STATEMENT OF GOOD PRACTICE AND ETHICAL STANDARDS

1. Ethical Standards and Editorial Commitment

FIFA Legal Journal is an academic journal that publishes scientific research and maintains a firm commitment to compliance with the highest ethical standards and principles of good publishing practice.

FIFA is responsible for establishing, applying and safeguarding the standards governing the selection, review and acceptance of submitted manuscripts. It is committed to ensuring the ethical integrity, scientific rigour and academic quality of all content published in the Journal.

2. Obligations of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to FIFA Legal Journal must comply with the editorial guidelines available on the Journal’s website and observe the following obligations:

2.1. Originality and Exclusive Submission

Authors undertake to submit manuscripts that are original and are not under consideration by, nor have been previously submitted to or published in, any other journal or publishing outlet.

2.2. Ethical Research Standards and Transparency

Research must be conducted in accordance with recognised ethical standards and reported with sufficient detail to allow academic verification and replication. All authors must disclose any sources of funding that supported the research and contributed to the achievement of the reported results.

2.3. Plagiarism and Proper Attribution

Submitted articles must be entirely original. Where authors have used the work, ideas or text fragments of others, such use must be properly cited. Any form of plagiarism (including literal or near-literal copying, paraphrasing of texts, or misappropriation of research results) constitutes a serious breach of ethical standards and will not be accepted under any circumstances.

2.4. Post-Publication Responsibility

If authors identify a fundamental error or a significant inaccuracy in a published article, they must promptly inform the Journal so that appropriate corrective measures may be taken.

3. Corrections and Retraction

Where any published content is identified as false, erroneous, misleading or fraudulent, the editors shall inform the authors and allow them to respond before taking an editorial decision. If the response is unsatisfactory or absent, FIFA may decide to issue a correction or retract the publication.

FIFA Legal Journal will address complaints and claims relating to published content through its official contact channels and undertakes to conduct appropriate follow-up, including review and retraction where necessary.

Any correction or retraction will be carried out in accordance with the principles set out in the Guidelines for Retracting Articles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
